Snehadhara Sadan Khempur
Snehadhara Sadan at Khempur:- Khempur was opened in the year 1988. It is one of the backward and remote villages in District Mahisgar in Gujarat State. 70 to 80% of the people live in below poverty line. Their only livelihood is agriculture and cattle raring. The poor were exploited at all levels especially women and children. Seeing the deplorable condition of women and children, Daughters of Charity started their centre for the Education of girls in the name of Snehadhara Sadan in the year 1988. Since then many girl children are given Education in this centre. Years later seeing ill health and many diseases developed because of the unhygienic surroundings in which poor live, sisters were forced to open a health centre for public, and for the empowerment of women, sisters opened a tailoring centre in later years. Through all these different services done by the sisters gradually much development took place socially, materially and economically. Education made great difference in the Society because of the secured jobs holders and now they could to live a decent life in the Society. At present also their services are extended to developmental works in villages creating Self help Groups among women.
